MUSCÀ – The Museum of Sicilian Cart invites you to discover its exclusive collection of Sicilian Carts. A real icon of islander folklore which arouses the curiosity of everyone who visits this country. Delve among keys, Axis boxes and harnesses that will make you take a journey into the most authentic Sicilian tradition. The exhibition will be enhanced by important pictures from the early ‘900s dedicated to the art of Carts.

The exhibition, organized by the Sicilan Carts Association of Trecastagni in collaboration with the City of Taormina, will be held at ex Del Carmine Church of Taormina, a gem of baroque style.

l Volo is a group of three (unconventional) teenage boys that came to fame in Italy after appearing on the Italian talent show “Ti Lascio Una Canzone”.
They were promptly snapped up by the leading people in the music industry in Italy and their debut album quickly went platinum. Like Andrea Bocelli before them, they are Italians set for the international stage. Their appearance on American Idol in 2011 caused a frenzy of first week sales for the lads with further plans to launch themselves elsewhere in the world. Their appeal is definitely their quirky image coupled with their unexpectedly mature vocals. They cover old ground in the classical crossover sphere, but they certainly package it in a new and exciting way. With undeniably strong voices and impeccable charm, Il Volo are hard to resist.

The Nations Awards Gala will be open by a concert by the symphonic orchestra directed by Maestro Nicola Piovani.

Caetano Emanuel Viana Telles Veloso (born 1942) is a Brazilian composer, singer, guitarist, writer, and political activist.
Veloso first became known for his participation in the Brazilian musical movement Tropicalismo, which encompassed theatre, poetry and music in the 1960s, at the beginning of the Brazilian military dictatorship. He has remained a constant creative influence and best-selling performing artist and composer ever since. Veloso has won nine Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards. On November 14, 2012, Veloso was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

TAOMODA, scheduled in Taormina from 13 to 20 July, is one of the most important sector events in Italy and it combines fashion, design, art, culture and healthy nutrition.
Among some of the major tourist attractions in Sicily, TAOMODA wraps up the calendar of international events of various fashion weeks.
The final event, sponsored by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and Italian Buyer Chamber, is the TAOMODA AWARDS Gala, which WILL TAKE place on Saturday 20 July at the Ancient Theatre in Taormina. During the gala the collections of renowned fashion designers – already protagonists at the Milan, Paris, London and New York fashion weeks – will be accompanied by celebrities from the world of television, entertainment, music, fashion and culture.
The event will be broadcast on RAI television networks.

The Greek Roman Theatre of Taormina this year will host Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets: a magical place to hear the band revisit the early days of Pink Floyd’s music.

 

Nicholas Berkeley Mason, (born 1944) is an English drummer, best known as a founder member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Mason is the only Pink Floyd member to have been featured on all of their studio albums, and the only constant member of the band since its formation in 1965.

It is estimated that as of 2010, the group have sold over 250 million records worldwide, including 75 million units sold in the United States. Despite solely writing only a few Pink Floyd songs, Mason has co-written some of Pink Floyd’s most popular compositions such as “Echoes” and “Time”.

The year 2019 marks the 50th Anniversary of perennial classic-rock favorite, America.

Founding members, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell (along with former band mate Dan Peek) met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song “A Horse With No Name”. America soon became a household name and their best-known tunes, which also include “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair” were cornerstones of 1970s Top 40 and FM rock radio. Fifty years later, these friends are still making music together, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound.
