Nastri D’Argento Awards

and

“La Stranezza”

Ancient Theatre, Saturday 1st July 2023 @9.00pm

For decades, the Nastri d’Argento has celebrated the rich tapestry of Italian cinema, shining a spotlight on the remarkable talents that have made their mark on the silver screen. Initiated in 1946, the Nastri d’Argento is the oldest Italian film award and beyond the glamour and accolades, is a testament to the enduring spirit of Italian cinema. It’s a reminder of the influence, the legacy, and the profound impact of Italian filmmakers on the global stage. From Federico Fellini’s surreal dreamscape to Roberto Benigni’s boundless charisma, the Nastri D’argento pays tribute to the trailblazers who have pushed boundaries, challenged conventions, and inspired generations of filmmakers worldwide. On the occasion of the Nastri d’Argento 2023, the “Nastro dell’Anno” award will be awarded to the cast of “La Stranezza” and the film will then be screened.

The Worst Days – I Peggiori Giorni

WORLD PREMIERE

Ancient Theatre, Thursday 29th June, 2023 @9.00pm

Directors: Massimiliano Bruno, Edoardo Leo
Cast: Edoardo Leo, Massimiliano Bruno, Anna Foglietta, Renato Carpentieri, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Giuseppe Battiston, Neri Marcorè, Anna Ferzetti, Ricky Memphis, Claudia Pandolfi, Rocco Papaleo, Giovanni Storti and Massimo Wertmüller, Marco Bonini, Sara Baccarini, Liliana Fiorelli

How nice it is to be with family at Christmas. Or not? And is May Day really a holiday for all workers? Mid-August in lightheartedness between a barbecue and a dip in the pool? Do you dress up on Halloween to trick or treat strangers? Three brothers find themselves drawing lots, on Christmas day, to decide who, among them, will have to sacrifice himself and donate a kidney to save their father’s life. A businessman on the streets is taken hostage on May Day by his former employee who, fired without just cause, is ready to do anything to be able to take the severance money. The clash between social classes ignites on August 15th in front of a barbecue and because of teenage children grappling with the risks of a high-alcohol party and the dangers of the Internet. Finally, Halloween is the joke that fate plays on an unfortunate wizard who finds himself being hired without his knowledge by his historic rival in love. After the best days always come the worst days! Four new episodes for an ensemble film which, between irony and bitterness, probes the human soul and its miseries.
