Shlomo Mintz is an Israeli violin virtuoso, violist and conductor. He regularly appears with orchestras and conductors on the international scene and is heard in recitals and chamber music concerts around the world.
In Taormina he will be accompanied by the Turkish Youth Philharmonic – conducted by Cem Masur – and will perform the Violin Concerto in D major, Op.61 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
He will also play pieces by Vincenzo Bellini (Norma overture), Gioacchino Rossini (Guillaume Tell overture), Giuseppe Verdi (Macbeth) and other masters of the music.

BELLINI FESTIVAL
The Bellini Opera Festival, conducted by Francesco Di Mauro and Brian Schembri, and Lucia Aliberti, one of the world most talented soprano of these days, will perform some of the most famous pieces of the three great authors.
This year the Bellini Festival, born in 2009 to commemorate the Sicilian Vincenzo Bellini, will give homage also to Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner since this year is the bicentenary of their birth.
The program includes Norma, The Puritans (V. Bellini), Twilight of the Gods, The Walkyrie, Tannhauser (R. Wagner) La Traviata, The two Foscari, The Force of Destiny (G. Verdi).

With more than 30 million YouTube channel views, Valentina Lisitsa is one of the most watched classical musicians on the Web, using digital innovation to champion classical music and performance.
Tonight in Taormina, Valentina will perform the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in A minor. op 16 by Grieg and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43 by Rachmaninov and Warsaw Concert of Addinsell.
Valentina Lisitsa was born in Kiev, Ukraine and began playing the piano at the age of three, performing her first solo recital a year later. She gained a place at the Lysenko Music School for Gifted Children and later studied at the Kiev Conservatory under Ludmilla Tsvierko. In 1991 she won the first prize in The Murray Dranoff Two Piano Competition together with Alexei Kuznetsoff. She now resides in the USA.
