“Capelli. M. si awasta un mattino da sogni inquieti” is a theatrical performance conceived, written, and directed by Luisa Casasanta, performed alongside Arianna Battilana, and produced by Collettivo Sante di Lana in co-production with Teatro Menotti.
The work, winner of the 2024 Scintille Prize, tells the story of the metamorphosis of a woman who is a victim of violence: M. wakes up with the stark awareness of being a woman who has been raped in a provincial context in Southern Italy.
The text rejects the victim’s pitying narrative and aims for a fierce awareness, transforming pain into a force that rejects all guilt.
Stage Style and Language: Sonar and Electronics: The voice combines with techno-electronic sounds and folkloristic references.
The work also criticizes media morbidity and spectacularization. voyeuristics of gender violence
