“Spirit of Two Islands: Terra Australis  – Terra Sicula”

Frederick William “Billy” Doolan Jnr (also known as Billy Doo, 1952-) is an Australian Indigenous artist who lives in Townsville, Queensland.

The exhibition will show 9 works of the “Sicilian Dreaming” series realised by Doolan in August 2009 when he spent nearly four weeks travelling across Sicily on a cross-cultural exchange to paint the country in the Aboriginal style.
Doolan imports the impressions of the Sicilian nature into his Aborigine myths.

The exhibition is part of an ICSA project. The I. C. S. A. (Institute of Culture Sicily Australia) is an organization that promotes cultural bridges between Sicily and Australia as well as events of relevance to both countries.
