A series of thirty findings dating back to the 5th and 6th century before Christ and showing evidence of the culture of Magna Grecia in Sicily.

The findings belongs to  the private collection of Fabrizio La Gaipa

The exhibition includes a variety of recovered items ranging from commonly used objects to very rare pieces such as a “lekytos” decorated by the painter of Haimon (one of only 117 examples in the world), and in addition, ritual cups, votive statues, bronzes, and various other objects.

The purpose of La Gaipa Collection project is to re-purchase local antiquities at auction houses, antique dealers, and from private collectors to return them to their home territory for study and public enjoyment. The idea was born with Fabrizio La Gaipa, passionate lover of ancient art, who previusly had created innovative cultural initiatives such as opening the Hotel Costazzurra Museum & Spa in Agrigento, the first archaeo -hotel in the world, as well do culinary events linked to the cuisine of antiquity and even the rediscovery of ancient treatments and aesthetic rituals such as massage using the “strigili” (metal scrapers).
