Taormina Opera Festival presents West Side Story.
Leonard Bernstein’s masterpiece arrives for the first time at the Teatro Antico in Taormina in a new original production. From “Maria” to “Tonight”, from “America” to “I Feel Pretty” from “Somewhere” to “The Rumble”, the sparkling music of the great American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in a new production designed and created for the stage of the Sicilian theatre.
A two-evenings show that portrays the eternal love story of Tony and Maria, modern Romeo and Juliet, set in the Upper West Side of New York: a timeless love story, an homage to William Shakespeare, whose 400th death anniversary is remembered this year.
