Visitors have truly the possibility to enjoy their spare time in different activities. For those fond of sports the sweet climate allows to practice any kind of sport. By every beach even during winter time one can enjoy water sports such as wind-surfing, sailing, fishing, scuba-diving, canoeing, snorkeling or … just jogging. In some beautiful nearby hilly villages there are international parafly clubs where one can also take lessons by professional teachers.
At approximately 4 Km from the Picciolo lies the Town of Linguaglossa, point of departure of most excursions heading into the Mt. Etna Nature Park. On the other side, at 8 Kms, one of most extraordinary monuments of nature: the “Alcantara Gorges”, a terrific natural phenomena with lava caves and falls, the “feather in the cap” of the Alcantara River Park, The One and Only River Park in Sicily. Crossing by foot a part of this river is a very unique experience even if you can do that only from May to September when the water level is low and when the hot temperature of the days help to deal with the freezing, really freezing!, waters.
